Your Chiropractic Treatment at Burki Chiropractic Center

Initial Intensive Care:

If an ache, pain, or other obvious symptom has prompted you to begin chiropractic care, the first thing you want is to feel better. Office visits will be frequent and your adjustments may be combined with nutrition and other procedures to help offer relief. Depending on your age, condition, and lifestyle, repeated visits over weeks or months may be needed to reduce or eliminate your symptoms.

Rehabilitative Care:

Muscle and other soft tissue damage often remain after the original symptoms improve. Rehabilitative care stabilizes your spine and promotes more complete healing. Visit frequency is reduced and you may be encouraged to supplement your care with exercises and other self care procedures. With your aches and pains gone, true healing can occur. Stopping care at this stage may risk a relapse.

Wellness Care:

When maximum improvement is reached, periodic checkups are recommended. These "wellness" visits can detect, and help correct, new problems before they become serious. Health conscious adults choose this type of care for themselves and their children. Like other preventative health measures, wellness care can save time and money by helping you stay well. How long you decide to benefit from care is always up to you.

Dr. John Asks some important questions of interest to Gig Harbor residents - Chiropractor Gig Harbor Dr. John Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
